I wanted to share my hair and make-up routine for when I go out for a night on the town. Ill show you the products I use and how I apply them to achieve my look.
Firstly I prepare my skin ready to apply my foundation using a cleanser, toner and an oil free moisturiser. I apply my foundation using a MAC foundation brush, the foundation I use is Studio Fix Fluid by MAC. I really like this product as it offers excellent coverage and is long lasting without being too heavy, It's also very matte which is great for my skin as it can become oily and look shiny. I seal my foundation with a light translucent powder, I love this one by Boots No.7 as it does not sit in the fine lines by my eyes, something I've found happens with other powders. I contour my cheek bones with a contouring brush, using Natural Collection bronzing pearls, I've used more expensive bronzer's before but I've found that this cheaper alternative is just as effective. I finish off by taking my blusher brush and applying a lovely pink Bourjois blusher, just on my cheeks to give a rosy glow.
I find that everyone has their own way of filling in eyebrows, I found this kit by Boots Seventeen, that's very similar to the one by Benefit but the fraction of the price. The kit contains a wax, two shadows to fill in the brows, a brow pencil and a brush.
The eye shadows I use are a bronze cream by Boots Seventeen, a neutral shadow by Natural Collection a pink and a brown shadow by Revlon and a charcoal shadow by Boots Seventeen.
First I apply the neutral shadow all over my lid and up to my eyebrows, just to subtly lighten the whole eye area. Using an eye shadow brush I apply the brown shadow along the crease of my eyelid, but only halfway along. I then do the same again with the charcoal shadow. I apply the bronze cream to in the inner corner of my eyes, finally I add a sweep of pearl pink shadow over my eyelid, blending as I go.
To finish off my eyes I add black eye-liner along my lash line and My Boots No.7 Fanomenal Lashes Mascara, I tend to swap between this mascara and my Benefit They're Real mascara as I love both. I've mentioned my MAC Cozy up Lipstick before. I love this shade as its very neutral and so looks great with heavier eye make-up.
I mentioned in a previous post that I got a curling wand for Christmas, but I really wasn't happy with how my hair turned out when I used it. I normally curl my hair using my GHD's which I think gives me a great look. Running my hair through the straighteners with a twisting motion gives me these wonderful curls. I run my fingers through my hair to separate the curls and then finish with a spritz of hairspray to set everything in place.
And this is my finished look. Let me know what you think!
