I got these great free samples of hand cream from L'Occitane today and thought I would share them with you. I've never purchased anything from the beauty store for myself before, only gifts for my boyfriends step mum, but had a voucher for these three little gems, so thought I'd try them out to see how I felt about the products.
I had a wander around the store before claiming my free gift and really loved a lot of the products on offer, all of the packaging is so beautiful and the gift wrapping is just gorgeous. I tested out a BB cream on the back of my hand, which had a lovely silky texture and a delicate scent, I was tempted to buy it, however, I like to think about my purchases before I go for it, as I quite often get buyers remorse. So today I left the product and decided to first see if I liked the hand creams. I must say I am now glad that I didn't make a purchase, not because of the hand Creams (ill come to those in a second) simply because of the rudeness I was greeted with when I went to claim my gift. The bored shop assistant in the Nottingham store was clearly aggravated that I wasn't in the shop to buy, only to browse and claim my free products. Which was such a shame as I really liked everything about the brand up to that point. As a fashion Communication and Promotion graduate, I know how important it is to connect with your consumer, I feel that everything about a brand should be tied up in a neat little package, and that includes customer service.
But enough about that. Lets get onto the hand creams themselves. Gorgeous! I've just used the Amade, Delicious Hands, with Almond Milk and have totally fallen in love, this product may be on my Christmas and Birthday lists for life. My hands feel so soft, after just one use and the smell is incredible. Also included was a dry skin hand cream which is much thicker, but smells a little bit like a cheap bar of soap, I probably won't use it, but I think my boyfriend would as he lifts weights, so get calluses on his hands. The third in the set is a cherry blossom hand cream, I like the packaging on this one the best, as it has pretty pink flowers all over it. I really love the smell of this one, weirdly it reminds me of the sun cream my mum always uses, but is slightly more floral, It's a thinner cream and is very silky to the touch.
I really love the packaging on all three products but feel that the naff little knitted pouch is a bit pointless and doesn't really match the brand aesthetic. So all in all my rating of the service is 2/10, the pouch 3/10 and the Hand creams themselves is 9/10.
Thanks for reading my loves and Happy Friday!
